But, I know, that we are all in this together. I know that we need each other. I also know that our thoughts about our planet, the animals, creatures and ourselves plays a big part on what will happen to this planet. Think about this for a second. If we believe in the Law Of Attraction, then if we all think we are doomed as a planet, then we will vibrate at that frequency and draw that like outcome to us. I think we are better off to meditate on the well-being, all the good, and be advocates of the good that we want more of.
While I was putting the finishing touches on my painting yesterday, my hubby read me a story on Facebook. I am not going to quote it exactly but the gist of it was this: An anthropologist was doing a study on children in a village in Africa where the children were all struggling for enough food to eat. He set a bunch of food in the distance, and lined all the children up in a row. He told them the objective was that the first one to the finish line would take all the food. When he said "Go," all the children joined hands and ran together, crossing the finish line at the same time and winning the food together. When the archaeologist asked them why they did that, they simply said a word in their language that meant "I am because you are." I wanted to rename my painting "I Am, Because You Are," but I had already glued the title onto the painting. I realize it means the same thing, but I just felt those little kids put it so much more eloquently than my words ever could.
In the movie, I AM, by Tom Shadyac, he talked about how when a member of an ancient tribe took more than she needed, it was a sign of mental illness. Today we have become a world of mentally ill people. We take more than we need all the time and harm the rest of our planet in the process. Are we happier for it? I look around and see a lot of unhappy people sitting in the midst of a lot of stuff. But, I also look around and see a lot of people who are waking up, choosing to take less, helping others and feeling happier for their contributions and their part in holding the hand of their fellow earth traveler.
Yesterday while I was doing all of this, Tamara Laporte, whom I am a huge fan of, posted something on Facebook that made me weep! It was so beautiful! She made a music video and also created an online art lesson specifically to raise money to buy water for our brothers and sisters, who do not have enough clean water to support their health and wellness in other countries. She is not asking for any set amount, just any donation you can give, and you even get the music download (which I am in love with) and a much coveted art lesson by Tamara herself! Please check it out and you can even have a little fun while doing a something that will make you feel SO good. I know a lot of you, who follow my art, will adore her, and love the chance to be artistic yourself. Go here now and check it out. Remember when you ask, "In the face of all that is wrong with our world, what can I possibly do to help"? The answer is, that you can do that one little thing. If we all do that one little thing, it adds up to be a really big thing! It just might be enough to heal our planet!
So, remember friends, we need each other and I am, because you are! Let us remember what truly beautiful creatures we are and hold each other's hand when we cross the finish line! Let us all win together! So much love and happiness today!
