But, I don't want to simply get in a groove and call that my style and stay there. I want to flourish, change and blossom by become a melting pot of the creative spirit available to me out there. When I look at the pieces I have painted so far, that I love, I can see all sorts of characteristics of the many artists that I admire out there, within each piece. I am beginning to see that it would be impossible not to be influenced by the art out there that makes my heart sing. If we "should not" be influenced by others, in order for our art to be authentically ours, I think we would all sit and stare at a blank canvas all day! Even Picasso said: "Good artists copy, great artists steal."
So, I guess what I am trying to say here is that if I can learn new skills and paint something that makes you go "ooh I like that," then I believe you can paint something too. But, how do you do that if you do not think you are an artist in the first place? You just start. Take some courses. There are so many inexpensive online work shops out there that will get the ball rolling for you. Look for an artist whose work you love and see if they offer an inexpensive course, so you do not have to break the bank in order to give painting a try. But, if you find yourself always loving and following other people's art, there is a really good chance that your soul is telling you that it wants to express itself through art too! I am a real big believer that it is through art that our souls are given the wings they need to lift off and take flight in the Universe. There is no limits out there to where your creative energy can go. Allow yourself to be lifted off into creative bliss. There is a chance that when your feet touch ground again you will not be the same person. There is a huge chance that your soul will have grown wings. So fly baby, fly! If any of this resonates with you right now, you may want to check out Tamara's Water campaign and for a small donation...the price of that latte you could skip today, you can get her sweet little lesson, but beware, you may find that out you are an artist afterall (I already know this) and get the bug that will have you wanting to paint all the time. But, your soul is going to feel so good! Here is the Water Art and Soul Mini Course by donation: http://www.willowing.org/2014/04/30/water-art-soul-a-new-mini-course-available/
